Alejandro Furth was born in Venezuela, where he grew up and attended El Colegio Internacional de Caracas, an American high school. His first love was acting –and so was his first job, as he became a bona fide working actor at the young age of ten when he made his TV debut in a Kodak commercial. Some years and a few soap operas later, he received his high school degree and moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to study theater at Northeastern University. It is in this new country and new city that Alejandro began developing and honing his craft while appearing on the stages of many local theaters.
In 1993, Alejandro moved again, this time to the Big Apple, to continue his education at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and pursue an acting career. Roles in such plays as “Cutting Open Wings”, “4 Cows in NYC” and the Off-Broadway hit “Bomber Jackets”, quickly followed. He tackled directing for the stage, with the Off-Broadway, world-premiere of “Blind Alley.” Cinema beckoned as well, when Alejandro appeared in the indie “Upside Down”, the film version of the play “4 Cows in NYC.” While in New York, he also became a member of The Lab Theatre (formerly Circle Rep Lab) and the LAByrinth Theater Company; Philip Seymour Hoffman, artistic director.
Upon his move to Hollywood, Alejandro expanded his resume by appearing in television shows such as “Nip/Tuck”, “The Shield”, “Alias”, “The Practice”, “The George Lopez Show”, “Studio 60”, “Criminal Minds”, “Las Vegas”, “The King of Queens” “The Mentalist” and “Justified”, to mention a few. He scored recurrent roles in “CSI: Miami” and “What about Brian”, as well as supporting parts in the blockbusters “Dreamgirls” and “Fun with Dick and Jane.” In 2005, he starred in the indie “Resilience” and the multiple award-winner “Cuco Gomez-Gomez is Dead!”, which he also co-produced. He also wrote, produced and directed the short film “La Nochebuena de Paco and Manolo.”
Despite his constant TV and film work, Alejandro hasn’t forgotten his theater roots; he is the founder of La Comuna, the Latino producing unit of the award winning MET Theatre in Hollywood, where he directed and produced new works. Currently he is a member of the award winning company The Elephant Theatre, where he recently starred in the West Coast premiere of Tony award nominee playwright, Stephen Adly Guirgis’ “The Little Flower of East Orange.”
Looking for new venues of expression, Alejandro paid a visit to the Motherland, Spain in 2008. That same year he booked a series regular in the primetime show “Plan America” on TVE, Spain’s number one TV network. In 2009 he starred in “LA Hora Cero”, Venezuela’s highest grossing film to date, for which he received high critical acclaim. He returned to Spain in 2010 to work on two miniseries “No Soy Como Tu” for Antena 3, opposite Alberto Ammann, 2010 Goya winner for best new comer and “Vuelo IL8714” for TV 5, with Joaquim de Almeida.
Always eager to help his peers, Alejandro, is a board member of “Venezolanos en Hollywood”, a non-profit organization which promotes venezuelan artists in the USA.

El primer amor de Alejandro Furth fue la actuación, y también fue su primer trabajo. Siguiendo su vocación desde temprana edad, a los 10 años hace su debut en televisión nacional con un comercial para la Kodak. Algunos años, comerciales y telenovelas mas tarde, al finalizar la escuela, se muda a Boston, Massachussets, para estudiar Teatro en Northeastern University. Es en esta nueva ciudad donde Alejandro comienza a formarse sobre las tablas de muchos teatros locales.
En 1993, Alejandro se muda de nuevo, esta vez a la Gan Manzana, Nueva York, para continuar su formación actoral en el prestigioso Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, y comenzar su carrera como actor. Pronto obtiene papeles en obras teatrales como “Cutting Open Wings”, “4 Cows in NYC” y el exitoso espactáculo Off-Broadway, “Bomber Jackets”. Decide abordar la dirección teatral con la premiere mundial Off-Broadway, “Blind Alley.” El cine llama a su puerta cuando Alejandro protagoniza “Upside Down”, la versión cinematográfica de la obra “4 Cows in NYC”. Estando en Nueva York forma parte de las prestigiosas compañías de teatro The Lab Theatre (antiguamente Circle Rep Lab) y LAByrinth Theatre Company, con Philip Seymour Hoffman como director artístico.

En el año 2005, protagoniza en dos películas independientes: “Resilience” y el cortometraje ganador de múltiples premios, “Cuco Gomez-Gomez is Dead!”, la cual también co-produce. Tambien es el escritor, productor y director del cortometraje “La Nochebuena de Paco y Manolo.”
A pesar de su constante trabajo en cine y televisión, Alejandro no olvidada sus raíces. Funda La Comuna, la sección Latina de teatro del galardonado MET Theater en Hollywood, donde produce y dirige obras originales en Inglés y Español. Actualmente es miembro de la prestigiosa compañía The Elephant Theatre, tambien en Hollywood, donde recientemente formó parte de la premier Oeste de “The Little Flower of East Orange”, de Stephen Adly Guirgis; actualmente nominado al premio Tony como mejor escritor.
Siempre buscando nuevos horizontes, Alejandro visita La Madre Patria, España, en el 2008. En ese mismo viaje se hace personaje fijo de la serie “Plan América”, para Televisión Española. En el 2009, va a Venezuela a protagonizar “La Hora Cero”, la película más taquillera de la historia cinematográfica de ese país. Vuelve a España en el 2010 para participar en dos miniseries: “No Soy Como Tu”, junto a Alberto Ammann, ganador del Goya como actor revelación 2010 y “Vuelo IL8714”, junto a Joaquim de Almeida.
Al mismo tiempo, con el deseo de ayudar y asistir a los artistas venezolanos que trabajan en la capital de la industría del entretenimiento, Alejandro es miembro de la junta directiva de la organización sin fines de lucro “Venezolanos en Hollywood”, la cual cuenta entre sus logros el haberle conseguido el reconocimiento al maestro Simón Díaz por parte de la Academia de los premios Grammys.
